Impact on WRS Licensing due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) –
26 March 2020 - Update for taxi and private hire licence holders across Worcestershire

In light of the latest Government guidance aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19), all licensing surgeries have now been SUSPENDED until further notice.

This has implications for TAXI licence applications as follows:

With effect from 26 March 2020 applications for NEW licences CAN NOT be processed.

Temporary arrangements have been made to allow RENEWAL applications to be made by email.

You will see that the temporary arrangements require you to complete a declaration form and submit this will your normal application form. These are:

Update 26/03/2020 - we have received the following information from the Department for Transport in relation to the continued working of taxis and private hire vehicles.

WRS Licensing:

Worcestershire Regulatory Services (WRS) undertakes the licensing function on behalf of the licensing authority, including administration, regulation and enforcement, for all 6 Local Authorities of Worcestershire. These are:

Bromsgrove District Council Licensing

Worcester City Council Licensing

Malvern Hills District Council Licensing

Wychavon District Council Licensing

Redditch Borough Council Licensing

Wyre Forest District Council Licensing

All matters outside of the powers delegated to WRS are referred back to the Local Authority for decisions or actions by their elected members i.e. Licensing Committees.
