During 2017 WRS conducted an assessment of nitrogen dioxide levels in Worcester City and following extensive scientific analysis the investigation concluded that the Governments annual mean objective concentrations for nitrogen dioxide is being exceeded and is likely to continue to be exceeded for the foreseeable future. On the 8th January 2018 The Council's Environmental Health & Licensing committee took the decision to declare the politically boundary of the City as an Air Quality managment Area(AQMA).
